obaewankenope:makiruz:whyyoustabbedme:This is a strange way of colonialism repeating againI’m from Costa Rica and I’m glad to inform that the family is now quarantined and the health authorities are tracking everywhere the family went (including the plane). Also it seems that Nicoya, where the family stayed, is one of the places with the highest rates of vaccination in the country. You know since we, a 3rd World country, have a functioning healthcare systemThat is good to know at least. Irresponsible fools for not getting their kid vaccinated (at all or just the ones needed for the trip). Brazil had a crazy outbreak of Yellow Fever these past few years. It wasn’t a vaccine usually given to people living in large cities here, because people in all risk zones (that is, the ones closest to the rain forest areas) were all vaccinated and there had barely been any cases of it for years. Then Samarco happened, we had a huge increase in the population of mosquitoes and Bam! Yellow Fever everywhere. The vaccination campaign was huge, people were staying hours in line to get a vaccine on our free healthcare system and most private clinics were out of vaccines.Me and my husband went to Paraguay last November and they almost didn’t let us board because we forgot out vaxx cards at home, they only let us go because our flatmate sent us pictures of them to show. And you know what? They would be right not to let us go. São Paulo was a risk zone, they shouldn’t take chances -- source link
