I’m also keen to show my boss that there’s interest beyond just local clinics, so I thought I’d ask you lovely people. The rabbit clinic does a lot information sharing and resource building, and a couple of years back (just before I joined the team) we released an emergency manual to help vets with less experience with bunnies know what to do in a pinch. That book was 50 pages long, this time we’ve gone to update it and added a whole bunch more, so what we have is a 200+ page how to of everything bun. Chapters include husbandry, behaviour, diet, handling, clinical procedures and techniques, haematology and biochemistry, GIT function and anatomy, dentistry, anaesthesia, neutering and surgical procedures, pain management, antibiotic selection, emergency management and conditions and a guide to reading emergency abdominal radiographs. We’re self publishing, this is not an extensively peer reviewed book, but it’s thoroughly referenced and the aim is for it to be an affordable (fifty australian dollarydoos* + shipping) and accessible start guide for vets who want a bit more information on rabbit medicine.
