smithsonianlibraries:Moustached guenon From: John Church’s “A cabinet of quadrupeds - v.1” (1805)“Several travellers have confounded this animal with another species, called the White-nosed Monkey, and this mistake has probably arisen from a white transverse line which appears beneath the nose of the Mustache. The difference, however, is very obvious, as the other species have a white nose, consistent with their name; but the nose of the Mustache, exclusive of the above mentioned mark, is of the same colour with the rest of his face. […] We know nothing particularly respecting the habits of these beasts; they are, however, very gentle whilst in a state of bondage.” -- source link
