the-illusion-of-sanity:kinriajara:the-illusion-of-sanity:Women in Armour - ConQuest of Mythodea 2015 - 1 | 2 | 3When you let women dress themselves for battle there are no chain mail bikinis, no boob plates, no high heels. We wear heavy armour and wield swords and axes and maces. So fuck you, video game industry. dedicated to bikiniarmorbattledamage(Those are not my photos! Posted with permission from the Live Adventure team and their amazing photographers. Find out more about them, the ConQuest of Mythodea and other Larp events here. Please don’t remove caption!)BONUS: empowered male warrior :)It’s almost as if people don’t give a shit about creativity and imagination,. Because reality =/= fantasy.Oh boy. Are you really saying what I think you’re saying? Are you really insinuating that dressing women in armour that actually protects their bodies is not creative and imaginative enough? You know that these pictures are from a larp event, meaning they actually wore those outfits into battle (even if it’s just with foam weapons, but still, you want your body to be protected, believe me). Also, how can you look at those outfits and think they are not creative?? Because you don’t see their boobs? Does it concern you that you might not know at first glance if the warrior in front of you is female or male? Tell me, why is that?Skimpy dresses on women who are meant to be warriors have nothing to do with creativity. There is only one reason they are put into those: it’s to cater to men, it’s because men still feel they are entitled to women’s bodies and therefore should be allowed to look at it even in scenarios where they should wear full body protection.Just because it’s a fantasy setting doesn’t mean a bare belly isn’t a really stupid idea for a person who has to deal with flying arrows, sharp swords and yes, also the occasional fireball. How on earth do you validate an “armour” where only the genitals are covered? Most male armour manages to cover the whole body as well. I hate how people arguing with “it’s artistic freedom! It’s nicer! we wouldn’t know if she is female if we couldn’t see her breasts!” keep forgetting that meanwhile the men are properly covered up for fight with no one demanding a crotch-window…. -- source link
