You’re not seeing things- this animal is actually green, which is pretty unusual for a mammal. Sloths are sometimes greenish as well, but that’s not due to natural pigment; that’s due to algae that colonises their fur. Allen’s swamp monkey isn’t the only green monkey, either- Callithrix monkeys can have greenish fur (another common name for them is just “the green monkey”). Allen’s swamp monkeys also have semi-webbed hands and feet, which serves their semi-aquatic lifestyle quite well. -- source link
