Beverly Buchanan reworked this satirical self-portrait into multiple postcards, subsequently titling some of them C.A. Moore’s Picture of a Starving Artist, Dublin, Georgia. Located sixty miles south of Macon, Hunger and Hardship Creek was so named for the struggles it witnessed.
