Azza, a Christian mother of three, was charged by Egyptian police with the murder of her infant daug
Azza, a Christian mother of three, was charged by Egyptian police with the murder of her infant daughter. Her husband, Nour, called the charges, “false irrational and unreasonable.”Early September, Azza was home alone with her children, while Nour visited his sister nearby. When Azza unlocked the door for whom she thought was her husband, she was confronted by three masked men and a woman with a face veil. The woman pushed Azza inside and grabbed here baby from her. They then beat Azza, shouted “infidels” and fled, taking the infant.Hearing screaming, Nour ran home and was told that his daughter had been kidnapped. When reported to the police, they offered no assistance. Tragically, the baby was found 10 meters from their home. Four days later police arrested Azza and alleged she suffers psychological problems. There is a history of harassing Christians in this couple’s village. Police there do not provide protection for them.Pray for comfort for Azza and Nour who have lost their baby girl. Pray for Egyptian Christians who continue to be attacked and are particularly vulnerable due to police indifference. -- source link
