Garry Winogrand started using Kodachrome color slide film in the early 1950s as a photographer for various magazines like Collier’s, Pageant, and Sports Illustrated. He photographed actors and musicians, nightclubs and music events, and various sporting activities. Simultaneously, he found ways to use color as an artistic tool, producing pictures for himself that began to blur the distinctions between commercial and candid photography.Installation view, Garry Winogrand: Color, May 3, 2019 - December 8, 2019.
