foxspirit1928:Miss Fisher Australia Tour (31)Since S1E6 Ruddy Gore centered around a play, and at the end Jack revealed that he was a Shakespeare Man, it felt appropriate to dedicate a post to Adelaide, the city where Nathan Page and his family current reside, and State Theatre Company of South Australia in Adelaide where later this year (October 3 – 12, 2019) he will be reprising his role as Richard Hannay in the popular play, The 39 Steps.I am sure we are all familiar with Nathan’s journey of transitioning from professional cycling to acting. According to Wikipedia, he began by attending Tuesday night drama classes and eventually graduated from the Centre for Performing Arts, Adelaide, so he has a deep tie to the city. Adelaide is the capital city of the state of South Australia and the fifth-most populated city of Australia. It was founded in 1836, so there are magnificent historical structures that are worth a visit. As for the State Theatre Company, the establishment dates to the State Theatre Company of South Australia Act of 1972 per their website statetheatrecompany.com.au. In addition to playing Richard Hannay in The 39 Steps (2016), Nathan also starred in After Dinner here (2018) here. Diehard fans from all parts of Australia and around the world traveled to Adelaide to attend his plays or sent cards and gifts to help celebrate. I heard through the grapevine that the staff at the State Theatre was really impressed with Nathan’s broad fan base, and the man himself was super proud of his dedicated supporters.Several people I know, including some who saw it back in 2016, already made plans to attend The 39 Steps this October. I wish I could definitely add it to my itinerary, but it all depends on when my Melbourne trip turns out to be. Also, Adelaide is about 730 km (450 miles) from Melbourne, a detour is not quite quick and easy (or cheap). For now, it shall remain a definite maybe. (Posted 26-Feb-2019) -- source link
