This is the entrance to Nisshinkan, one of Japan’s finest Edo-era schools, located in Aizuwakamatsu, Fukushima Prefecture. Back in the day, the Aizu Clan samurai used to send their children here. Class was in session when last we visited nearly one year ago now. We tried our hand a kyudo - a kind of Japanese archery - and finished things off with a few minutes of zazen meditation (a super uncomfortable experience for those with lanky legs like this visitor).Plans afoot for a return in 2021, pandemic permitting … so, we’ll see how that goes.https://www.instagram.com/city_cost_japan/ -- source link
