not-safe-for-earth: gavillain: Comparing two of Loki’s different “deaths”. In the first, he’s a broken child trying desperately to earn his father’s approval right before attempting suicide. In the second, he’s a man with a purpose who is self reliant and doesn’t need his father’s approval, and “dies” saving the Nine Realms for no one else but him. Plus, in the first, he survives because of a force beyond his control, while, in the second, he survives because he wants to live and he is in control of the events. That’s just another reason why he’s such a brilliant villain because of how much he’s grown over the past three films. *OR* he likes dying just to watch Thor cry. -- source link
