This was a Christmas gift for @ziracona. This is, not only one of my favorite quotes from In Living Memory, but is one of my favorite quotes of all time. It’s up there with Sam Gamgee’s speech about there being some good in the world, and it being worth fighting for.Of course, @ziracona immediately gave me something In Living Memory-related, that has me actually still in tears. But I’ll let her post that when she likes.Merry Christmas–and any other midwinter festival or celebration of the dying of one year and birth of a new one. I’m writing this at the end of a decades-long year from hell; but Sam and Quentin are still right. There is still good in the world.
