A Bow plate decorated in “The Rubber Tree” Pattern (mock Chinese marks). c.1760-65. China was popular and widely imported in the early eighteenth century, until the English learned to manufacture it themselves, a development that eventually led to the creation of famous English China tableware manufactures like Dansk, Royal Stanley, and Staffordshire.
