dramatic-audio:dancynrew:I was thinking about Magnus was only being about 20-23 during Stolen Century, and re-listened to the first few and got very sad about him quietly dying on the mushroom planet and drew this out over the last few days. [ID: a watercolor-style comic of a moment from The Stolen Century arc of TAZ Balance. The comic opens on Magnus, a burly human man. He’s laying in a bed, apparently asleep with all of his clothes still on. He’s wearing a blue, bubble-like mask over his nose and mouth. Lup, a thin elf with wild blonde hair, also wearing a blue mask over her face, leans against Magnus’s door frame. She says, “Hey, Mags! Up and at ‘em, lazy bones!” She looks concerned for a moment, saying, “Magnus? M-” Her eyes go wide as realization dawns on her. We cut to Lup slamming the door of the Starblaster open, stone-faced. Barry, a chubby human man, is standing outside. All around him are enormous mushrooms that look like they’re giving off a noxious green fume. He says, “Lup? Where’s Magnus?” Lup says, “Dead.” She folds her arms and looks away, still stone-faced. She says, “Can you help me with the body?” Bary closes his eyes and rubs his forehead, saying, “Fuck. Yeah.” We cut back to Magnus’s sleeping face. A hand reaches out to touch his forehead, and off-screen Barry says, “Shit… He’s just a kid.” Barry stands over Magnus at the head of the bed, while Lup stands near the foot. Barry looks distraught, resting one hand on Magnus’s arm and the other on his forehead. We cut to Lucretia, a dark-skinned young human woman with white hair, and Davenport, a light-skinned gnome. They’re both leaning over Magnus’s body, which is resting in a bed of green and blue plant material. Lucretia says, “We should take off the mask. He doesn’t… need it now.” Lucretia quietly removes the blue mask from Magnus’s face, and we see Magnus, resting peacefully with his arms crossed over his chest. All of the remaining IPRE members turn their back on the pyre, which is alight in flames. Lup’s arms are crossed and she looks angry. Davenport is resting a hand on her arm to comfort her, and Barry is looking concerned in her direction. The comic cuts to Magnus, alive, shirtless, and with a black eye. He’s smiling brightly and saying, “Hey!” He laughs and touches his chest, saying, “Feels good to breathe with not poisoned lungs!” Lup runs over and throws her arms around Magnus, hugging him tightly. Magnus says, “Whoa! D’ya miss me?” Lup sticks out her tongue and says, “Not at all.” The others come in to join in the group hug as well- Merle wraps his arms around Magnus’s waist, Lucretia rests a hand on his shoulder, and Barry, Davenport, and Taako all smile and crowd in close as well.
