obfuscobble:ameranthe:Reference and inspiration for building homes. Original source here.Allow me to translate these as a man who makes 3D models of houses for a living but gets paid a flat rate per house as opposed to per hour, in order of presentation in the post:ugh i have to line up these peak edgestwo overhang dormers okaythree overhang dormers okaaaay but the thing is you never see these alone ; in england especially they like to form entire mutated conglomerates that breed verticies like locusts and defy you as to where one ends and another begins such that the entire street is a rancid slurry of dormers and porticoesEasy MoneyEasy MoneyStop. WHy. The spires add nothing why even. why are they all at different heights. who thought of this. balconies too? and a separated stairway? aaaag i mean its super pretty but hrnnghso i have to model the columns and thats a pain but okaywow im side-eyeing you sooo harrdddhow could this happen to me i’ve made my mistakes im sick of this life the night goes onas im fading away i just wanna screaaam how could this happen to meat this point i’ll just sigh and drink some more teayou know barn style roofs are a bit complex but honestly it’s kinda fun when you get it rightEasy Moneyoh my good heavens i have modeled so many of these “location sounthern california” my boot these are all over and they like to tilt them at angles too which makes them even more difficult to model if i have to model another one of these im gonaWHY ARE YOU DOING THIS i hate that miniscule domer i hate all the plantings that obscure the house in the pictures i have to work from and i can tell there’s an octagonal window seat under that overhang and thats like a special little punishment from you to mei have a very special hatred for these because from up top it looks like a simple roof peak but then you look at the side view and it’s one roof peak, one tilted roof, and then an awning that has to line up EXACTLY with the tilted roof so ughpro-warning: modern ranch houses like to have a second roof peak halfway in so there’s technically two ranch houses spooning and although that seems romantic, it’s technically more work even if it’s easy.so you’re just throwing it all in the pot now ok i guess i’ll live on some more ramen noodles ok -- source link
