agendershittyknight: i hate this, i hate it. im a 36 year old adult whose parents thought that social isolation was an appropriate response to poor grades. guess what? it didnt pull my grades up. what it did was fuck me up in ways i still havent recovered from. isolating your child from their friends isnt a substitute for parenting them. it is, however, a great way to prepare them for being abused in the future, since isolation is one of the most common tactics abusers use to entrap their victims. congratulations, youve just taught your daughter that thats a normal and healthy response to her not behaving in ways that satisfy the people in coontrol of her. how about you fucking parent up, figure out whats bothering her, and get her the help she needs– whether it be emotional or psychological support, or a tutor– instead of this lazy, disgusting bullshit. -- source link
