aeroplanekelly:On the 28th of Feb to March 1st I’ll be joining many talented & intelligent wom*n on an education panel to discuss how wom*n are educated - I’ll be discussing early childhood education & education programs for children in Sydney’s indigenous communities. “It is important to not only have the awareness and feel impelled to become involved, it’s important that there be a forum out there to which one can relate, an organisation - a movement.” -Angela Y. DavidAs a response to being unheard and misheard, wom*n-identifying folk will reclaim our voices and congregate to make quakes of revolution. Wom*n Speakout serves as a safe, uncensored and affordable platform for wom*n to celebrate and discuss our diverse stories, ideas and hopes for the future. The festival will include talks, workshops, panel discussions, live music, art and stalls around the key topics of racial and gender equality, mental health, sexual health, Indigenous rights, education, transgender issues and the creative arts. The inaugural Wom*n Speakout will be held on occupied land of the Cadigal People of the Eora Nation.
