She needed peace and quiet, some place where she could focus on her artistic and academic pursuits while remaining somewhat close to campus. It was a big ask, especially on a college student budget. She tried searching all over the net for something she could afford, but kept coming up short. That’s when she had spotted the ad in a local print newspaper. Roommate Wanted: Seeking tenant for spare bedroom at High Street apartment. 420 all month. Utilities paid. Must be chill. Mina almost skipped over the ad, thinking it was too good to be true. High Street was one of the nicest areas of the city and within walking distance of campus, finding an apartment in that area for less than 1500 a month was highly unlikely. Still, a place that ideally located and within her 500 dollar rent budget was too perfect to pass up. She called and ended up talked to the primary tenant, Scott, on the phone for nearly an hour before he asked her to drop by the apartment and check it out. He has been living in the apartment alone for a year, he was an indie musician and apparently a bit of a trust fund kid, Mina couldn’t fathom any other way Scott would have been able to afford the upscale apartment by himself, but she didn’t want to pry too deeply as he showed her around the place. The rooms were spacious with posh furnishings; everything was tidy and well organized. Scott himself was soft spoken and seemed incredibly carefree. “Pretty good for 420, huh?” he asked with a shy smile after finishing the guided tour of the apartment. “My god yes, this is perfect! I’m surprised nobody else has jumped on your listing!” Mina replied with a smile. “Right right… Some people just aren’t a good fit, ya know what I mean?” He asked. “Right, yeah… I can see that, I’d love to rent the spare room, if you think I’d be a good fit!” She nodded and smiled back at him. “You seem pretty chill,” He said as he walked over to a desk and pulled a small plastic bag out of the top drawer, pulling a joint from the bag and lighting it, before offering her a toke, “You are chill, right Mina?” Mina’s mind raced for a moment, she had been wondering when the other shoe would drop. She knew there had to be some caveats to this whole deal. She had been worried he would end up being a secret pervert or have some weird mental health issues, but the fact that he was just a secret stoner almost seemed tame in comparison to her other concerns. She pondered the offered joint, was he really just looking for someone that didn’t mind his pot habit? She wasn’t going to let a little weed get in the way of being able to stay in such a nice apartment. She took the joint from him and inhaled deeply from it. “Yeah, I’m chill…” she replied as she exhaled slowly, passing it back to him. – That had been nearly a month ago and by now Mina had settled into a whole new routine. She had never been much of a pot smoker before, she hadn’t been opposed to marijuana usage, but had never really felt the urge to partake herself. That changed after moving in with Scott, while she wouldn’t allow herself to smoke quite as often as he did, she made a show of taking a hit or two with him during the first couple weekends after moving in, just to keep him from changing his mind about her tenancy. By the third weekend she was actually somewhat looking forward to getting high with him. It was finally Saturday morning, she was lost in thought as she poured her morning coffee, it had been a difficult week at school, and she was worried her grades were starting to slip. Classes had become so stressful lately. She tried to brush it off. She just needed to chill more, that’s what Scott kept telling her all the time. Almost as if summoned by thought alone, Scott walked into the kitchen a moment later, a freshly rolled joint in his hand and a playful smirk on his face. “You gotta try this strain; it’ll change your life!” He said in his usual laid back tone of voice, by the look in his eyes Mina could tell he was already pretty stoned. Mina glanced at the clock; it was barely ten in the morning. “Bit early, don’t you think?” she asked with a chuckle. “Hey, don’t be harsh! I got this special, just for you!” His playful smirk grew into a grin, “they call it bym-bow kush or something like that… ‘spose to be a real trippy high, my guy said it will blow your mind away!” Mina had to admit, that did sound good right about now… especially after the demanding week she’d had at school. She thought it over for a moment, deciding to put off her morning study session until later in the day and took the joint from him. She picked up a lighter from the kitchen counter, sparking the tip and puffing on the joint before inhaling deeply and holding the smoke in her lungs for several seconds. “Whoa…” Mina exclaimed dreamily as she exhaled a large plume of sweet smelling smoke. The effects were almost immediate, Mina felt an incredible rush of dizziness followed by a gentle swaying feeling, she giggled involuntarily. “That’s… some strong shit…” She giggled again and brought the joint to her lips for another toke. Scott watched on in approval as she took another deep hit of the special weed, she appeared completely oblivious to the fact that each toke was changing her slightly, remolding her into something far more to his liking. Her lithe frame was filling out; she was gaining curves in all the right places and a softness that typically resulted from frequently bouts of the munchies. The years of dying her hair black to fit a goth aesthetic also seemed to fade a little more with each deep breath she took. By the time she finished exhaling her third hit of the joint, her hair had gone completely blonde and wavy. She noticed him watching intently and giggled. “Duuuude, like… what are you staring at?” She asked, her voice making her sound even more buzzed than he expected. “Nothin’ babe, you like that bimbo kush I got you?” He grinned widely, watching as she just nodded and took another deep hit from the joint. “Damn, look at you go! Hardcore stoner girl…” He laughed. Those words bounced around in her head, her mind was growing foggy now. Hardcore stoner girl. hardcore stoner girl. Over and over inside her mind. It was pushing out all of her worries, all of her stress, all of her concerns. Her outward transformation continued as her makeup lightened and her pale skin gained a golden sun-kissed glow. She couldn’t even remember what she’d been so worried about right now. Thoughts of college were completely gone from her mind. She just really liked this weed. She was so happy Scott got it for her. It was slightly turning her on, actually. He was such a great guy. She rubbed her thighs together as she felt moistness between her legs. She looked down at herself and raised an eyebrow, confused by her outfit for a moment. She could have sworn she had been wearing something all black earlier, but as she stood there in her tiny red shorts and white crop top the memory of her gothic wardrobe faded away entirely, causing her to giggle again. Why would she dress like a goth? She was way too happy and chill for that. She was totally into wearing her stoner pride.
