Just finished reading True Grit for the first time and it is very funny and SUPER feminist!The protagonist is a 14 year old girl who routinely refuses to be told what to do as she goes about seeking justice and revenge for her father’s murder. She means business and won’t let anybody stand in her way. It’s a great story and I was surprised how funny it is. I don’t like westerns much, but now I will watch the original movie and the new version that the Coen Brothers did in 2010. -- source link
