Or maybe it had started because he remembered a little too sharply the feeling that came after hunger. Like a wolf would tear into your insides for days on end. Whatever, the reason didn’t matter. What did matter was that someone started leaving Jou lunches at the library. They would be waiting were he checked in when his shift started. No explanation besides a note that read, ‘eat more, you dork. Bakura’ on it. There was always vegetables in it too. Snuck in some clever way like they had been with the stew. Either hidden inside the recipe or masked under different tastes and sauces. Some part of him felt happy that he could help a friend, the other more psychotic side of him was appalled he was being nice. Whatever. Who cared. He didn’t. Nope. No concern at all. He was just tired of Jou always ordering a stupid pizza. that was it. The first time he saw the orderly little bento boxes sitting behind the desk at the library, he had assumed one of the students had left them there in a hurry. Glancing at Odion, who was busy with a phone call, he had lifted up the note, slipped on his reading glasses and then spent a few minutes trying to decipher the short note.Bakura had brought him lunch. He could only assume it was the Bakura from truth or dare, since the Bakurae - both Ryou and Touzokuou - in his own universe were shacked up in Oxford with Malik. (He wasn’t quite sure how that worked but he was not going to question.)More grateful than he knew how to express - for someone who owned a countryside vila, he was remarkably broke day-to-day - he devoured every thing in the bento. Eating with his hand because using chopsticks in his left hand was awkward as hell.Then, he washed up the boxes carefully and took them early to Atem’s magic house of games. -- source link
