My phone’s camera was completely flummoxed by the colour of this box, perhaps mistaking it for a flushed complexion and trying to pull it towards a more complimentary skin tone. I tried to correct it to its original colour but only got halfway there, purpling up my thumb in the process. I often note friends on Instagram tagging their posts with #nofilter, as though the unprocessed output of their phone’s camera represented anything like reality, anything like the colours we see with our eyes. As though photographs are not filtered by your phone’s algorithms long before you get to see them on the screen. But the damage was done years ago—I seem to remember poking fun at heavy filters in the pages of this very blog, probably before Instagram existed. I think the essential goal of processing digital photos should be—wait, wait, I’ve become sidetracked. I just meant to say if any Londoners come across this Land chocolate it’s really worth a try. The box will be a much darker orange in person. -- source link
