i-m-snek:40-snakes-in-a-trenchcoat:glitterslither:jii-chan:coffeeandspentbrass:red-faced-wolf:Is that a fucking cobraCobras need lovin too!@glitterslither daaang, this is somethin’ elseGosh man I’m bad at identifying snoots. I can’t even tell if this is a heckin’ cobra. [There’s a couple sneks out there that have hoods like cobras but I have no idea if they’re venomous] But if it is [which I’m assuming it is] then.. wow uh, I’m definitely no expert on danger noodles but.. There’s no bad snakes, but there IS dangerous snakes. I’ve never really seen.. this interaction before. I would not recommend handling your pet cobra or any hot though. Especially without the proper safety gear and back-up! Haha wow I have no idea how to caption this without sounding like a dingus what the heck. I can tell though that it did obvi get a little agitated with the boop, it pulled away in a jiffy. And in the first gif with it’s hood displayed- I’m guessing that’s defensive behavior? These gifs are so confusing what is happening?!My mind does not want to comprehend any of this. I’m not sure if defanging snakes works like neutering a goat or something- where it becomes more docile? I know defanging is how snake charmers don’t get bit, and it’s pretty horrible to do.. @kaijutegu @40-snakes-in-a-trenchcoat I’m havin’ a hard time with this one. I’m not that hot with the hots! Can you give us any insight on what’s goin’ down here??TLDR: Please don’t go out to your local hot-hot spot and try to pet your new venomous friend! If you see a venomous snake be sure to report it ASAP and keep a safe distance! So it took some doing, but I managed to track down the source! This is a King Cobra in the care of chrisweeet on Instagram. This snake’s name is Oracle, and he still has his fangs and venom glands. He was rescued from a fence, where he’d been badly tangled and mangled up a bit, but was taken in by a rescue and rehabilitated, then sold to chrisweeet.THAT SAID….This is incredibly irresponsible handling for a hot snake of any kind, especially one that’s a wild caught, recently rescued and injured cobra. This person is not taking the proper precautions, and if he gets bitten, ignorant people will use his example as a case for why no one should be able to own any snakes at all, venomous or otherwise. Here’s his story v@kaijuteguPlease do not free handle or pet venomous snakes :/ -- source link
