“Topps”I had stepped in it bad. Well bad was a relative term, because as my grandparents had always told me things were a matter of perspective. Someone was always winning when someone was always losing. I was losing my humanity the bits of me that existed before I was given away to my current coach. The time before him was a blur. Not in the sense that it happened so fast, but that I couldn’t remember it at all. I think that was by design. I had a coach before him we had been together going on 5 years. Since I was a young lad of 19 and first stepped foot in the gym. But while our time was fruitful he quickly realized that he had maximized me as much as he possibly could, and set out to find others who could take me further. That’s how he came across Mr. Scotts after a months-long search, I don’t think that was his real thing but that’s what he went by in the world that we all frequented because he had a knack for pushing his subjects so far most people said it was like he was the Miracle Gro. It thought it funny, but knew I had little say in the matter. I had signed off myself to my current coach, and was like a trading card something that gained value over time, had to be taken care of and was handed around when something of similar or more value came along. I don’t remember the exact date only that it was raining that early morning when he came to collect me. He loaded my few belongings into the trunk and I had a seat in the back where I took up nearly the whole bench by myself. I met his glance in his rearview mirror.“Today is the first day of the rest of your life.” He said not breaking eye contact and we were off. -- source link
