dimetrodone:dimetrodone:Can’t currently add this on to my part but good addition.I don’t have much to add since I’ve never owned a budgie myself, but one thing I always see that worries me is people nearly always keep them on their own, when they are social animals and need companionship and interaction. I hear the main “benefit” of having only one is that they will be more social with humans, but every single one I’ve come across has been shoved in a cage and are rarely interacted with. Like maybe they can be okay as a single bird with a (very) dedicated owner and a bird who is comfortable with humans, but that’s rarely the case.People keep budgies on their own either because they’re not told about how social they are or they do it to force the bird to bond with you as if you’re their mate and the only member of their flock. sure, it makes the budgie love you and cuddle you and be overall as lovey as it would be with its mate, but you’re also forcing the bird to be by itself when you’re not with it 24/7 -- source link
