ekjohnston:drst:darthmelyanna:thatravenclawbitch:standbyyourmantis:So apparently my new thing is doing math to find the smuttiest fandom on AO3.Procedure: I identified the fandoms using the “off the top of my head” method. From there, I located the tag on AO3 and divided the E rated works by the overall number to get a percentage of smut. I did not use the M rated works, since those are not necessarily porn. I’ve already done this for the Once Upon a Time ships, so I went ahead and included that data in this list. Even though it’s not on my post its. I also realized I’d left off Finn/Rey, so that’s rectified in the post but not the picture. Some general observations, since this is obviously not scientific at all.1. Gay pairings tend to have way more porn than straight or lesbian (holy shit, Kylux fandom)2. Star Wars fans are filthy deviants3. There is way less Destiel and Clexa porn than I would have thought4. In general, fanon pairings tend to be more popular than canon onesThe results in descending order:Kylux - 34.60% (highest M/M pairing)Drarry - 26.72%Merthur - 23.36%Johnlocke - 22.13%Snamione -21.68% (highest M/F pairing)Destiel - 20.84%Dramione - 19.82%Stucky - 19.10Romione - 18.72%Rumbelle - 18.61%Reylo - 16.50%Stormpilot - 16.26% (lowest M/M pairing)Finn/Rey - 14.10%Whouffalde - 13.72% Shoot - 13.13% (highest F/F pairing)Nine/Rose - 10.59%Swan Queen - 10.02%Ten/Rose - 9.78%Captain Swan - 8.93%Clexa - 8.85% (lowest F/F pairing)Outlaw Queen - 6.53%Fitzsimmons - 4.2% (lowest M/F pairing)Feel free to reblog with your own ships. I’m curious if anyone can challenge Kylux for supremacy on this one, and if Fitzsimmons really is the most innocent amongst us.I’m surprised Nine/Rose has more smut than Ten/RoseAnd Rumbelle, we need to step up our game if we’re tied with Romione. AND HOW IS THERE SO MUCH KYLUX PORN? HUX IS BARELY IN THE MOVIE.Because they’re two white dudes. There’s a post somewhere about how so much m/m fic is one main and one incredibly minor character, and the minor one (who’s in canon so little that he has no personality) is given the same uptight, repressed personality over and over and over. The post discussing it called this personality the ghost of m/m fandom. Happened in SGA fandom—this one dude had 90 seconds onscreen but there was a fairly sizable number of fics written about him and a major recurring character. And that pairing @darthmelyanna is referring to was basically a copy of the main m/m slash pairing in the fandom. There was no real difference.I have nothing super constructive to add, except that this post confirms my extreme dislike of ship names and ship smash names.(Is it irrational to hate “stormpilot” because the whole point of the movie is that FINN IS NOT A FREAKING STORMTROOPER?)(Also, what the eff is Whouffalde?)omg -- source link
