art-of-swords: Cavalry Sword Dated: 1600 - 1785 Culture: German & English Medium: steel, wood, ray skin, silver foil Measurements: overall length 93.4 cm; blade length 77.5 cm Provenance: acquired from Bland, St. James’s Street The sword features a burnished steel hilt with lion’s head pommel and decorated with two serpents. The barrel-shaped wooden grip is covered with white rayskin and spirally bound with silver foil.
