blackcatula:How To Ruin An “Addiction To Power” PlotI liked this episode as a kid because it was on a lot, but this was a terrible way to resolve it. I dunno if the writers are at fault or if it was some kind of exec decision (because the rule is that there HAS to be at least one Thundercats Signal per episode, and also the Sword of Omens can do literally anything), but it completely destroyed any sort of resolution to this plot.Alluro gets his hands on the crystal and torments Tygra by dangling it front of him, saying he can’t have it, then when Tygra magically regains his strength, he knocks the crystal away into a ravine and Alluro jumps after it like a moron. Tygra says the same would have happened to him if he’d been under it’s spell much longer. The problem is that he’s totally cured, through none of his own volition, and this will never be mentioned again, so the story loses its power quickly. What am I saying, that I expect consistent plot complexity from an 80s cartoon marketed to an all-ages audience and probably heavily edited by executives, in its third or fourth season by this point after a few writer changes?
