ladyforloveandjustice: trilllizard666: generalchelseamayhem: dewgongo: siryouarebeingmocked: blairellis: this never gets old Yeah, those men who are complaining about their issues totes deserve to be mocked for it instead of trying to understand and correct them*. That’s certainly not reinforcing their gender roles in any way. Oh, wait, there are plenty of female MRAs, and MRAs often talk about gender roles that existed long before feminism. This video was objectively wrong. But who needs facts when you can pander to a stereotype? IIRC, the creator was accused of using a straw man - which he was - and he basically went “well, it’s your fault for being so strawmannable!” or something equally stupid. When major e-feminist concerns include dudes talking about the friendzone - again, often incorrectly linked with MRAs - and people taking up too much space on the bus, it’s kind of hard to argue that feminists are doing important work. * Just try and argue that feminists do try that, and I will laugh at you. There’s a popular website dedicated almost exclusively to mocking MRAs. Not talking to them. Mockery. Feminists have spent much more effort trying to silence and discredit MRAs IRL and online than talking to them, to the extent of breaking the law, repeatedly, as far back as the 70s. The very fact that these gifs incorrectly portray MRAs as all male, yet still have tens of thousands of agreeing notes, indicates quite a lack of even basic knowledge of who MRAs are, much less what they actually say. For example, did you know that MRAs want more men to be recognized as rape victims instead of being erased? That’s a worthy cause, right? Definitely not “whining”? How about ending biased domestic abuse standards that basically get men punished for calling the cops on abusive female SOs? Even if he never laid a finger on her, he’s likely to be assumed to be the aggressor. No, feminists aren’t fighting that; who do you think moved for those statutes in the first place? How about Earl Silverman, who struggled for years to run the one men’s shelter in Canada, couldn’t get enough funding, closed it down, then killed himself? He was just whining, right? Say, did you know that men are the majority of suicide victims? Almost as if telling them to suppress their emotions was a bad thing! everyone look at this grown man baby weep Isn’t it nice how “manbaby” evolved from a term used to describe a man who was not mature enough to hold a reasonable discussion or otherwise exhibit normal adult behaviour, to a term used to belittle men having any emotions or discussing any of their problems? “young thot in training” Oh my god, I haven’t seen these gifs in a long time… -- source link
