Entertainment Spotlight: Rudy Pankow, Outer BanksBorn and raised in Ketchikan, Alaska, Rudy Pankow grew up performing every chance he got. Straight after high school, he headed to Los Angeles to follow his dream. It didn’t take long before he made his professional debut guest-starring on Sunny Family Cult. Several lead roles in short films followed, including Not Me and the award-winning Deviant, as well as a guest-star turn on The Politician. You can catch him playing JJ in Netflix’s new series, Outer Banks. Rudy took a few minutes to chat with us about the show, wholesome moments on set, and more. Check it out:If you were stranded on an island, what would you bring with you?I’d get a jet pack. To fly away. [If escaping isn’t an option] I know what I would bring: An Uno deck. What would you have done if you made the same discovery or if you were in the same situation as the Pogues? The exact same thing! What’s the most reckless thing you’ve ever done?Move to LA [LAUGHS]. Uh, I swam with a whale one day. That was pretty sketchy. Can you tell us your favorite on-set experience, on or off-camera?There was a really wholesome moment, we were on our last shot, and we were on a boat. Dolphins came up, and it was just a picture-perfect sunset…one of my favorite memories. All of us were there.Do you have a favorite trend or meme from the 2010s?I’m not a meme guy. What did you learn from your experience on Outer Banks?Nothing’s set in stone until the camera’s rolling. Thanks for taking the time, Rudy!
