These are the final results I printed for the final project. My experience with printing was, as I expected terrible. I tried 3 different places, 1 Fujii and 2 Kodak Studios and they all failed to get some aspect of my results right.I wanted to print in A5 but have the images themselves as A4. This way, I would have borders around the images and the images would still be lifesized. Fuiji films did not have A5 and told me that they would print glossy but on A4 and that they would be full bleed. I agreed to print one and it was way too dark and none of the meanings I wanted the images to pass by were apparent. The first Kodak I went to printed in A5 but in matte. The images looked dull and they were not delivering my message still. I decided I wanted to print in glossy more than in A5 so I took the risk of printing the images on A4 so that they would be life sized, but stuck to having them on glossy paper to be more striking. The problem with the third Kodak was that they printed the images in a slightly bluish tone, which did not personally bother me because I feel like that tone added to the “abnormal” element of the series, but what did bother me is that all the pictures had red lines from the printer going across the top or the bottom. I printed each photo twice or three times to avoid it but it ewas inevitable by that point.I liked the way the images turned out and I found that they’re bluish tone worked in their favor as does the completely black and white images do online. I wanted to photograph and manipulate more pictures of this sorts after this project and maybe fix there ones up more. I also want to experiment more with printing them since I’m not 100% satisfied with the printing results. -- source link
