epicgai:© Epic-(ure)-GaiEpic(ure)Report: Kimura-san’s After-Midnight RamenKimura-san has been pushing his ramen cart serving munchies to his inebriate customers (mostly salarymen, bargirls, pachinko-addicts, and tourists - like me) for no less than 50 years. His ramen is nothing more than just a bowl of noodles, broth, chashu, boiled egg, and nori - but is so good! It’s not a matter of tastiness that makes my experience with his ramen unforgettable… It was the murky, gloomy and yet vivid ambience of the district which resembles a lot the scenes from Hayao Miyazaki’s Spirited Away. The exact moment of me and my dear new friend Yukako after we got imbibed with glasses of Ron Zacapa’s rum and Yamazaki’s whiskey - straying try to get back to the hotel encountered Kimura-san pushing his ramen cart through a gloomy alley. His wooden cart and his smiley face enchanted me - without delay, I asked Yukako to order a bowl for me. I savoured the bowl till the last drop (which If I could see myself - the parents-turned-pigs scene from Spirited Away could be what I saw). I still doubt that I might have been “spirited away” along with Yukako that night in Namba.Namba.Osaka.Kansai.Japan. -- source link
