I feel like I’ve done a modest amount of traveling internationally. I realized, however, that there’s so much I also haven’t seen domestically. I’m on a mission to see a bunch of places in the US, and thought that Colorado was a great place to start for my first real solo vacation this year. This past week has whipped me silly in a really good way, and left me pondering all the extraordinary ways in which the universe opens up to you and swallows you in it. I’ve moved my body to its near-limits this week, greeted vistas like this one whose sheer scale and hard angular edges not only dwarfed the people below, but puts everything else—all the petty problems and worries synonymous with day to day life—in their place. I reflected a lot, ate generously, took in plenty of sun, slept little, drank way too much caffeine, and made some really awesome friendships along the way. I feel like I packed in a year of memories in four days. This is my fuel. So what’s next? Arizona maybe?
