Sad Smiling LadyAs a kid, there were a small handful of minor reoccurring hallucinations I had. I also used to get sick a lot. When I would have a very bad fever, I tended to get intense fever dreams or vague hallucinations I wasn’t used to.One time, when I was around 10 years old, it seemed like a hazy lady was staring at me, and when I asked her to leave me alone, she said that she couldn’t yet. The thing that stuck with me though was that she assured me not to be afraid because she didn’t hate me, but that she didn’t like herself to be around either.I remember feeling bad about this, I was half asleep and everything was blurry so due to my fever, it made perfect sense to me that a stranger would come into my room and tell me about their self-hatred, and thus I kept muttering things to her and tried to assure her that everything will be okay. I think I even asked her how her day had been and if she had a pet.I don’t remember understanding anything she said or if she ever really replied, fever dreams tend not to be very clear. All I know is that in the end, she smiled and nodded and then disappeared. She was one of the few hallucinations I never saw again. -- source link
