badger-buddy: #reviewsdaytuesday - I Was Here by Gayle Forman (Whoa, why is the picture sideways?) A story of the best friend of a girl who committed suicide and how she is dealing with that loss. This book really hit home with me, because I lost a friend to suicide 2 days before the book came out. I couldn’t put it down - the sense of mystery was very intriguing. I think this book could’ve done without the romance storyline, though. I don’t know. This book brought back old feelings for me. I watched polandbananasBOOKS’s bookTALK on this novel, and she mentioned how she was hoping that Meg didn’t actually kill herself or that it was murder, not suicide. I think that’s one of the things I like about this book, I think it handles the topic well and shows that suicide is a thing that happens. I definitely recommend this book, it’s by far my favorite from Gayle Forman (I’ve only read 3 others though), but if suicide is a trigger warning for you, it’d probably be wise not to pick it up. Don’t forget to read the author’s note! :) And just as a side note, I’m in love with this cover -- source link
