astrolocherry: Saturn in the 4th house - Frozen Dollhouse Saturn in the 4th eventually finds a safe place inside. Constructing this sanctuary is rarely easy, warm or welcoming. The inner child is locked in confinement, making its presence known through the constant shadow of impending danger, abandonment or destruction. The conditions of childhood where primitive needs were unrecognised and unmet become reenacted in the hope of finally mastering the experience and getting it right in the way she couldn’t as a child. These are largely subconscious operations, so the individual can struggle sourcing the cause and rationale of her behaviour. The condition of Saturn in the 4th requires deep and probing self-reflection, but the waters of the psyche burn with the ice of Saturn’s rings. She can close her eyes and try to dream and retreat into reverie and crash against a frozen waterfall, constructed with her coldest fears, contemptuous self-beliefs, and inherent sense of being defective and unwanted. To enter the alchemist’s dream, the individual must sail through this inner storm and live consciously through the nightmares. She may be scared about what her internal self or subconscious provocation like psychology may reveal about herself. It’s possible with Saturn in the 4th for the individual to make a promise with herself to leave her past behind. This defence is neither peaceful or productive, and rather another attempt to run away like she couldn’t as a child. It can produce the looming and constant sense of exile, feeling lonely with company, her house is not a home, and invaluable in every sense of the word. It can be almost impossible to generate feelings of emotional, physical, and psychological safety regardless of where she is or who she is with. Emotional attachments form the basis of internal stability. This can make it very difficult to separate from relationships, her residence, work, or comforts even if she is distressed or destructing. It’s important for the individual to accept and integrate her painful memories in graceful resilience rather than hide them away. When these remain hidden, so does her source and wisdom. She is given substance through belonging, being depended on, memories, being the provider, and coming home to fulfilment. When she undertakes these roles, she is also validating and comforting the inner child who was figuratively or literally neglected in these ways. It’s possible that she never learned the skills of self-acceptance and self-soothing because these qualities were rarely displayed for her. This is when the ghosts of her past become angels of light. She may even be wrongly fearful of becoming a parent out of concern for repeating conduct or irreparably damaging her child. It may also stem from a wilted flower of femininity inside, a feeling of hardness instead of softness, a complex about debilitated maternal instincts. Childbirth, becoming a parent, or taking on a nurturing and guardian role with a pet, family member, or the children of loved ones brings sunlight to this flower. Even if the parents tried their best, there was no concealing the hard times or difficulties they faced. There may have been intense responsibility placed on the individual at quite a young age. She may have been forced to care for a demanding, dependant elderly, or sick family member at the loss of her own childhood. She may have adopted the role as second parent in a single family household. Or she may have suffered beneath the weight of financially providing or excessive parental expectation. The individual may have been confined to militant style discipline and routine. Of course with Saturn, the opposite can also occur, and the parents could be impractical, lack boundaries, and let autonomy take its course. Both circumstances can result in refusal or inability adhering to adult duties and responsibilities. It’s also possible that inspiration is generated by the wisdom and strength of one of the parents. The individual’s residence is highly important, the dream home can be the grand desire. It’s the vision and exhibition of her identity, her experiences, and ultimate success. Houses can breathe to Saturn in the 4th, they have a heritage, a story, and an energy. It may take the individual a long time to find the perfect place, position, and price, but when she finds it she walks through the door and knows she has been there before like it’s her castle. This is the ultimate Cinderella story where Saturn becomes enchanted god mother. Misfortune and mistreatment turns into the tale she has always dreamed of. A story where the Princess comes home to the simple satisfactions of solace, safety, security, and she is held in the arms of love until the very end with her eyes opened and closed. -Cherry [art: Xue Wang] -- source link
