asheathes:WIZARDING SCHOOLS AROUND THE WORLD: THE MARITIMESSwaying and swaying in the ocean currents, the Maritimes School for Magical Learning is a structure half submerged in the Atlantic with slick algae growing on the walls, and clear pods attached to the school for studying and observing ocean life. The school mostly cater to students from the Maritime provinces, Newfoundland, Quebec, and a small number of Inuit. However, a scattered number of students who are interested in oceanology from all over Canada also make the journey every year. Wands carved from the bones of animals, customarily whales, are popular amongst the wizarding community, and the enchantments studied and performed are drawn from the inherent magic of the animals whose bones the wands are made from. The school hosts a number of deep-sea diving trips not only for those studying Care of Deep-Sea Wildlife, but also for regular students who show interest in the field. The trips aren’t always fun, though, for veteran students often play pranks on newcomers during shipwreck explorations. -- source link
