ferbfletch:I don’t remember exactly how this idea got in my head, but it came to me a few days ago. Now let me just talk about Candace for a second. She’s obsessed with busting her brothers, yes. It takes up most of her life. It’s something that always has to come first, no matter how hard she tries to change it, while everything else comes second. But she isn’t trying to bust her brothers to her mom just so she can ruin their lives. In fact, it’s the complete opposite. Yes, while she may take pride in the instances where she fantasizes/dreams about busting her brothers, that’s more of a sense of accomplishment for her more than it is the fact that her brothers are in deep trouble and can’t do anything they call ‘fun’ anymore. Because what they see as fun, she sees as dangerous. Deep down, she’s only trying to protect them, and her protection just happens to come in the form of the urge to bust. Nothing wrong with that, right? It may always fail for her and make her look like a loony bird, but deep down she has the right idea - a good heart, if you will. The instances are rare where she admits that she admires her brothers are amazing and that she’s proud of them, but she doesn’t ever seem to hold back saying it if the time to say it comes along. She reaches out to her brothers for help in a few instances and in a dream she had, she said how proud she was to call them her brothers. This all of course leads to this image, really. While on the outside it seems that she’s trying to get them in trouble because she wants to see them punished, what she’s really trying to do is protect them from the danger they constantly put themselves in because she loves them and adores them. -- source link
