strabbyshortcake: Wambus as a host. His symbiote is a garden salad pelecinid wasp. Normally I don’t see him as the sort of person to want to take on the role. The backstory behind it is that Triffany dies tragically while on the island, due to some sort of accident rather than the bugsnax, and Wambus, in his grief, refuses to leave the island, insisting on staying and caring for it as a memorial to her. Snaktooth takes advantage of his desire to care for it and offers him the role. Overtime, he comes to personify the island itself as Triffany, believing the bugsnax are acting on her behalf, though how much of that is their influence over his mind and how much is him trying to cope with her loss is uncertain. I absolutely love him :) I also just love the idea of how his and Gramble’s relationship will change due to being hosts together on the island! -- source link
