secretallie:#this scene makes me want to die #it would have been an amazing scene no matter what #the combination of guilt and shame and defiance on his face when he speaks with nate is just astonishingly perfect #but this turn makes it one of the most beautiful scenes i’ve ever seen #the way she asks because *of course* parker would ask about the elephant in the room #the way his face changes when he turns to her and he lets her - and her alone - see how utterly heartbroken he is #the way he puts himself entirely in her hands and asks - not for forgiveness or forgetfulness - but simply for mercy #and how that speaks to a trust he’s never had in anybody else and that nobody else has ever had in her #the way she sets aside both her curiosity and her fear because this is her friend and he’s in pain and nothing is more important than that #and that’s why parker is the best and beth should win every award #and it must be noted: #i will stan for christian forever just for the way he says Please in this scene #THIS SHOW #THIS CASTFriendly reminder that less than a month later, Eliot and Parker find themselves in an underground cave on an icy mountain, where Eliot ever so gently tells Parker that it’s okay, it’s okay that they have a darkness inside them. It’s okay because it means they can use it to preserve the innocence of those who don’t have it, those who haven’t lived through what they had. They can stand between their team and make themselves a shield against the exact forces that made Eliot and Parker who they are, allowing Nate, Sophie, and Hardison’s idealism to survive. I think it’s this conversation on a sunlit park weeks before that makes Parker trust that Eliot knows what he’s talking about in that cave. That, and the countless times she’s seen Eliot shed blood on their behalf, mean that Parker can believe him when he says it doesn’t have to be a curse. -- source link
