modernism-in-metroland:Swiss Cottage station (1929) by Charles W. Clark Entrance hall to the former Swiss Cottage underground station on Belsize Road. The station building was rebuilt in 1929 to designs by Charles W. Clark, architect to the Metropolitan Railway. A second Swiss Cottage station was opened in 1939 to accommodate the Bakerloo line, with two stations running in tandem for a short time until 1940 when the Metropolitan station was closed.
