alexmaybe:skywiener:my absolute favourite thing about the prequels was how anakin was never corrupted or manipulated by the jedi or the sith, how obi-wan didn’t cut off his legs and set him on fire, and how he became Best Space Dad and lived happily ever afteralso i liked the part where he was aroace a lotthis sparked an immediate and intense desire for an au where, after the jedi council decided anakin was too old to train, qui-gon jinn basically went “that is the last straw, fuck you all, i’m gonna go start my own jedi order, and i’m taking my padawans with me,” and he goes and liberates naboo, because it’s the right fucking thing to do, and anakin and obi-wan are sort of following him around going “this is definitely not what i expected from my life, but he is our lunatic, we should probably keep an eye on him” and eventually they both get actually into the idea of a jedi order where you’re allowed to have emotions and care about people. they set up shop on naboo, because padme is grateful for their help getting her planet back, and at some point they go free anakin’s mom, because seriously, and at about six months, people start trickling in from the temple because they are also into the idea of having emotions and caring about people. and anakin and padme totally date, but they do it openly and with the full support of their community, and qui-gon and obi-wan both cry at their wedding. (yoda shows up one day with basically all of the initiates in the back of his ship going “right, you were. assholes, we were being and deserve better, the younglings do” and qui-gon is thrilled to pieces) -- source link
