Had the coolest guest in my garden today :) I was watching the small birds feeding through my bedroom window, happy that more and more sparrows and dunnocks are visiting daily. I went to the bathroom and when I came back, all of them were gone and everything was silent. This female sparrowhawk was sitting on the fence looking out for prey. She spotted a collared dove in the bushes under the fence, flew down towards it and they both shot out and were soon gone from my sight. Everything lasted about ten minutes.
