Another work from the recent past, while I slowly chip away at new paintings. This one was used in a collaboration with @jacquesmariemage last year as limited edition of really beautiful cloths. The original work was picked up by a collector in Hong Kong and I still think about it. In hindsight it’s sort of a transition piece to what I’m doing now. I think it’s the first time I began placing objects symbolizing contemporary trash culture over a portrait. Though this has other items of historical significance, it links them together with patterns, that to me anyway, symbolize how our brains organize information, leading to language, culture, the end of the world, etc. Cheers!
