hannigram-trash: So Will in Mizumono…. still haunts me. Can you just… look at these? I don’t see a man who is trying to resist. I think he even finds the relief in the man who gives him the pain, he is accepting his fate like he accepted the monster. Will made his decision by calling Hannibal and letting him know. Even though it was late, he chose Hannibal at the end. So I think even though Will pulled out his gun, it was never meant to be for Hannibal, it was just an instinctive move. He put it down naturally when he saw Abigail and didn’t try to raise it when he learned that Hannibal was still there or when he saw him.Maybe you can say that he didn’t know Hannibal would hurt him and he didn’t see the knife, but he is Will Graham, don’t you think it never crossed his mind? He could have just jumped out when Abigail made it clear that Hannibal was behind him and raise his gun, or just fight with him, but he didn’t do any of these because he didn’t go there to beat the monster. I think Will knew that Hannibal could hurt him, but he just accepted what it is to come, he left his fate to Hannibal’s hands, because he knew that he betrayed him, and he thought he deserved whatever Hannibal would do.The only thing he didn’t consider before was Abigail, and that was the part that made it really hard for him to forgive him, but then it made him realize that his betrayal hurt Hannibal exactly like Abigail’s death hurt him, and maybe more.Their biggest betrayals and scars are the very things that bring them closer, because they make them realize how hurt they are and they are showing that brokenness with hurting each other how they were hurt, and this is why betrayal and forgiveness are best seen as something akin to falling in love, because the ones who are able to hurt us the most are the ones who we value the most. -- source link
