letsgetthingsright:Grenades, molotovs, gangs, Swedens false portrayal of security and a potential collapse.Goran Mansson, head of Malmo’s bomb squad displays some of the unexploded grenades found in the city August 2015.“It is strange to be doing almost the same in Malmo that I was doing in Iraq.” Mansson said as 2015 saw atleast a dozen of grenade attacks, often aimed at no one in particular.“Terror is not just about a lone gunman,” author Palmkvist said, referring to attacks by a 22-year-old man on a synagogue and free speech event in Copenhagen - a short car ride across a bridge from Malmo - that killed two people in February. “Terror is also about a lot grenades being thrown.”The same evening this article was published there were new grenade attacks, as described in the next article.“Malmö has been hit by more than 30 explosions since the start of the year. At one point in July four grenade attacks were reported in under a week. Last year, a total of 25 blasts took place in the city over the whole of 2014.”Now police chief Lars Alvarsjö warns that the combination of a high threat of terror and the refugee crisis could cause the entire Swedish justice system to collapse, in the Swedish newspaper Svenska Dagbladet.Aside from daily police work there is the added burden of border control and a much higher need for police presence on public events. In a country of just under 10 million Swedes, the 20.000 officers are greatly overworked.Mr. Alvarsjö claims at least 10.000 additional officers should be recruited to be able to complete their work efficiently.Sources:http://uk.reuters.com/article/uk-sweden-grenades-idUKKCN0QE09F20150809http://www.thelocal.se/20150810/malm-shaken-by-another-hand-grenade-attack2015http://www.hln.be/hln/nl/960/Buitenland/article/detail/2619942/2016/02/17/Zweedse-politie-vreest-instorting-van-rechtssysteem.dhtml -- source link
