Winter is coming. This morning I decided that I had pushed my luck about as far as I could so today I went out and harvested the rest of my green tomatoes and pulled out the vines. Now I need a way to use these things before they go bad. A couple of the larger ones are going to my mother for fried green tomatoes but the rest need to be preserved. I still have to harvest quite a few peppers so I’m thinking I might do chow chow and see if I like it. I just need a good recipe. In case you’re wondering no I have no idea where I’m going to put the peppers. Canning season is always a challenge in my small kitchen. I’m not complaining though, having too much food to preserve is not a bad problem to have. For all I know I won’t get any tomatoes next year, so it’s best that I am careful with what I get now.
