We are growing. I very recently welcomed these lovely ladies to the homestead. I have no idea what kind of chickens these are but they’re sweet older ladies. For now they are in the goat shed with my shy girls so that they don’t have to worry about the roosters while they try to get used to a new home. My neighbour up the street brought them to me, they used to belong to somebody who, due to health challenges, really needs to downsize. I’m fully aware that they don’t lay as many eggs as they once did and that’s just fine, they will live out their remaining years here with no expectations of egg production. I just really enjoy my chickens. They are endlessly amusing. Does that mean that I won’t tell them that they’re all crazy and they have to pay rent? Of course not, that’s half the fun of having chickens. If anybody has any idea what this little bantam girl is please let me know because she is gorgeous. I’m already infatuated. They also are going to need names so take your best shot. Just keep it PG people, I can’t be screaming anything naughty across the yard.
