I was in my late teens or early twenties when I discovered that my dad had been put on the guest list for this, the last Bowie and the Spiders show. And didn’t do anything with this like take his Bowie obsessed 12 year old son to the gig because it was a school night. I was so amazed I wasn’t even upset. I’m still not. Wistful sometimes. But my rule as a dad has always been to take my children to things that only come along once, and not ever tell them no because it was a school night. -- source link
