oldschoolfrp: rectanglefeet: oldschoolfrp: jelly-pumpkin: oldschoolfrp: The villagers of Orlane seem nervous. There must be a secret underground cult here. Or maybe they just don’t like Ferd’s habit of pointing at everything with a loaded crossbow. ( Jim Holloway, AD&D module N1: Against the Cult of the Reptile God, TSR, 1982) That crossbow is very clearly not loaded. Granted waving a crossbow around in any state isn’t exactly a good habit to have, but the string isn’t drawn back, and there’s no bolt. No, it’s loaded, so he shouldn’t point it toward the woman on the bridge like that. Sorry @oldschoolfrp, but @jelly-pumpkin is right- the crossbow is neither loaded nor ready to be fired. HOWEVER, it should not be used in that manner- you wouldn’t use an unloaded rifle as a pointer, would you? It was loaded a moment ago. Just ask the villager walking this way, she’s Oh, no. He’s done it again. If we turn around and leave now, maybe no one else saw us here. -- source link
