I am on a tea-roll today. Sampled the green tea from Myanmar under the NagarPyan tea brand which I got as a gift. Brewed a thick blend to get a stronger tea for tasting - it was an unusual tea which first released a warm yellowish tea and lightened into a green after the 3rd round of steeping. It had a bitterness which lingered on the tip of my tongue rather than at the back of my throat. Beyond the bitterness, there was not much complexity in the body. In the evening, I tried it again after dinner with less leaves for a weaker brew - again the first rendition was yellow before turning green. The leaves remained quite tightly rolled after steeping. It turned into one of those teas that you steep continuously without much thought, more because you’re thirsty than because of the taste. I can’t decide if I’m untrained in appreciating various tea types hence my disdain for something weaker than what I’m used to. But for now, I’m half-hearted on this. -- source link
